The second half was quite bitty from Norsemen’s point of view, as skipper and acting gaffer Murray made the most of the rolling subs and made several changes. EBOGs came into the game a lot more and played some nice football of their own. About half-way through the half the away team went one goal up after a long ball forward caused confusion in the defence, leaving the centre forward the opportunity to lob JJ and give his side the lead. Michael Warburton came off the bench for Norsemen and looked lively, creating 3 good chances for himself that he couldn’t quite convert. Special mention must go to the EBOGs winger who hit an absolute screamer from all of 40 yards, right on the bye-line, which caught the whole team by surprise, but unfortunately for him crashed down off the underside of the bar.
All in all a disappointing result but some very positive signs for the future.
