Norseman have played brilliantly since December, without a league defeat except for the heartbreak in the cup :(
It was a quick start for the Hawks, last time we played Panshanger we lost 3-1 because their big centre forward was just pushing Oliver away from the ball. Not this time, Luke T marked him very well. In the first five minutes we were all over them. Harry was having a run and shot from a very tight angle, the goal keeper made a mistake and the ball rolled in the back of the net to make it 1-0. It was about 15 minutes into the first half and suddenly Theo was on the attack he shot and it was 2-0 to Norseman. The other team were getting better with a couple of shots but Arthur saved them. Seb laid a lovely ball to Harry and Harry shot to make it 3-0. It was beautiful football. We were a bit too confident ,they were on the break and they scored to make it 3-1 at halftime. The pressure was on in the second half there wasn't much possession for Norseman and Arthur made some great saves to keep them out. 60 minutes had gone by and Harry scored another good goal and now the score was 4-1. Surely the other team weren't going to come back into the game now? I was right the final score was 4-1. The Hawks beat Paringdon 2-1 on Saturday, that's a 6 league wins in a row. Our coach, Colin Hales, described the first half as 'the best football we have played all season.' The game started and Norseman were soon on the attack. Dexter passed to Seb and before you knew it Seb coolly slotted it home and the Hawks were 1-0 up. We were all over them in the first half, about half way in the first half and Dexter put a tremendous cross into the penalty box and Harry was at the back post and put it home, 2-0 to the Hawks at half time.
The second half was under way and Paringdon were much better in the second half so we had to be much more defensive. Arthur was at another level in the second half with some excellent saves but they broke free and made it 2-1 with ten minutes to go. William was through on goal but the goalkeeper came out and made himself big to block the shot. The final score was 2-1 and the Hawks go rolling on. Written by Seb Berndes, number 7 Norsemen Hawks |
