Well, the end of the year is upon us and I would like to wish all my readers a very Happy Christmas and A Prosperous New Year.
Last Saturday was not one of our greatest days. The 1st XI went down to our local rivals Broomfield, who sit as the base of the table. Enough said. The Res XI lost to local rivals Winchmore Hill in what was a very good game and although the Hill were probably the stronger side, our Reserves took a 1-0 lead at half time before conceding 4 in the second half. Probably slightly unfair as we had battled well throughout this match. The 3rd XI returned to winning ways following their Cup defeat last week to maintain their Top of the Table spot for Christmas, but made hard work of it against a resilient Carshalton XI who through travelling troubles started the game with 8 men. Fair play to them they battled well and only just lost 4-3 after a match reduced to 80 minutes. The 4th XI had no fixture and were celebrating Xmas at the Darts at Alexandra Palace. The 5th XI also retained their Top of the Table spot with a 4-1 victory at EBOG's, but sadly more poor discipline in this fixture. The 6th XI went down at Home to a strong Old Parks side. The 7th XI also suffered the same fate at Old Parks. Take Care all and as mentioned have a great Christmas & New Year.

A tough game ensued with a goalless first half and the play even, we took the lead thanks to a bad goalkeeping error but were soon pegged back by conceding a soft equaliser. Our superior fitness began to take effect and we won the match by scoring two good late goals. This team is young and fit and could go far, but another two bookings which we can ill afford. We really need to impress our own disciplinary rules, to try and avoid trouble at the end of the season. The Res XI, 5th XI & 7th XI were postponed. The 3rd XI reluctantly played their AFA Junior Cup tie on an artificial pitch and lost 3-2 to Old Parms. The 4th XI lost 1-4 to EBOG's 4s in theior AFA Minor Cup tie. The 6th XI lost away to EBOG 6s. Last games for 2015 this week lets end the year on a high note. 1st XI v SOUTHBANK CUACO H L 2.00 CLUB 1

This week they had a cup game against Old Parks who are well placed in the league. We probably had our strongest team out and put up a great display of football showing great spirit and winning the game 3-1 It was good to see one of our returning veterans Reggie score two goals.
The 1st XI travelled to Old Manorians in the AFA Senior Cup, a small pitch and impossible wind were blamed for our 3-2 defeat. The 3rd XI had a good win 5-0 away to HSBC, yet again you know who claiming a Hat Trick. The 4th XI beat AP 6-1 in a closer game than the score suggests. They were 2-1 with 10 minutes to go, but finished well and forced AP into conceding 2 Own Goals. Yet again their talisman Shane Killick managed to score a brace. The 5th XI continued their rich vein of form with a 3-1 win against Old Lyonians to keep them top of their division. The 6th XI lost a hard fought battle 2-4 to Old Stationers 4s. The 7th XI had no game this week. A review of the season so far leaves us with three teams in first place and one team in second place in their respective leagues keep up the good work and we can make strides in our ambition to return all our sides to their top divisions.
