To all the Norsemen players who stayed and presented me with such a good farewell moment upon my retirement as Club Manager. The whole thing was a total surprise and the gifts even more so, they are sincerely appreciated and the sparkly beverage will be downed speedily on a non driving day, so I am sorry but you won't be joining me on that one.
It was great to see so many of you that have passed through the ranks from the juniors to boisterous twenties and now with your own families. The Norsemen Club has always been kind to me giving many treasured memories both on and now what seems like an eternity, off the pitch. Many great friends who remain true to our early days of fifty years ago. It's a great place for life long mates - so make sure you all make the most of it and do your best to nurture The Club through its difficult times, It will repay you in so many ways.
Well that's it for nostalgia, looking forward is where I prefer, so best of fortune to the 2's and 3's in their quest for promotion and success to the rest of you in seeking beers and fame at the bar.
Thanks Danny G for doing the MC on the night, a bit of luck that One Hundred and Eighty did not have to be called
See you all soon
