This Saturday the Hawks put in one of their best performances of the season against SFA's best team. In the first the ten minutes it was like a game of ping pong, the ball kept going form end to end. Their goalkeeper was a giant, we weren't sure if he was U11 or older than 11. He kept saving all of our shots, he was like an enormous Arthur. Our defence of Luke, Oran and Dexter were solid as usual as they kept SFA chances out. Both teams were passing the ball well and it was good game to be playing in.
The second half Harry crossed the ball and Taylan buried it to make it 1-0 to the Hawks. SFA wren't giving up and had a goal disallowed for offside, good call by linesman Gary Coles. The pressure continued and SFA sneaked an equaliser at the near post with less than 10 minutes to go. At the end of the game it was really nervous for both teams as they went for the win. Then Arthur saved the best for last with a fantastic save in the last minute. All the Hawks had to do was clear the ball and the referee blew for full time. scorer Taylan Hasan Seb Berndes No. 8 Norsemen Hawks

We played this team before Christmas and won 2-0 in a friendly but this time it was even better! It was definitely going to be difficult because it was a cup match and nobody wanted to go out in the first stage of the competition. Potters Bars began strongly but Norseman's strength got to them and we were back in control of the game. Harry H scored the first goal with some nice build up in midfield from Theo and Seb. There was more Norsemen pressure, their goalie cleared, it went straight to Jake who scored a long range strike. The defence was strong with great tackles from Luke and and Dexter. The second half had more great football from the Hawks. Olly was playing well in midfield, George played a spectacular ball to Harry H who bamboozled his marker, crossed it for Taylan who scored a calm finish. Oran was being an engine in midfield, Harry G was calm at the back so Arthur had another clean sheet in the bag. We can't wait for the quarter finals and we hope we can go all the way this year! Seb Berndes No.8 Norsemen Hawks The Hawks produced their worst performance of the season as we lost 3-1 away to SFA Raiders on Saturday. In the first ten minutes the Hawks definitely had the best chances but our shooting wasn't accurate. But we still felt we were going to win. But then disaster struck! A simple ball fell to Oliver in the penalty box, Arthur called for it, Olly didn't clear it and it was 1-0 to SFA. The second half was a lot better but their goalie was playing well and made two or three great saves. Then chaos got to the Hawks again and a scuffed SFA shot crept in at the near post. Then Harry H put in a great cross and Jake scored with a spectacular header. 2-1 Hawks was the comeback on? Hawks had more and more chances, Jake had a great chance to make it 2-2 but it went over. SFA broke away, their cross deflected off Luke, hit the post and went in to break all our hearts. If perform like this next week in the cup we won't be making it to the next round. scorer - Harry Hales First win of the new year!!
The Hawks started 2019 with fantastic, fantasy football with a win in the bag against Stevenage Borough Silvers. It was 3-2 to the Hawks with George getting the first, Seb scoring the second and Theo getting the third. We hadn't played for a long time so it was good to get a win to start the year. Dexter was playing this week so the defence of Arthur, Harry G, Luke and Oran worked really hard to keep Stevenage out. Hawks started to get into the game and Jake had two chances but none went in. Harry the past to Seb who shot, but George followed it up to make it 1-0 to the Hawks. Stevenage got a corner, Hawks didn't clear and it was 1-1. The second half began with the Hawks playing some nice passing and great attacking from Theo, Harry and Jake. The broke in the box and Seb scored with a cool finish. Hawks were looking good and Theo scored to make it 3-1. It was getting towards the end of the game, Stevenage got a free kick. It was great strike 3-2 to the Hawks. It was a nervous last 2 minutes but Hawks defence stayed committed and didn't let another goal in. After the match Colin and Theo couldn't choose a man of the match because we all played so well.
