Norsemen U13s clinched their 2nd Title in 2 years with a6-1 victory over Alexandra Park South.
Goals from Leon Omondi, Joe Gorolini, Captain Arun Erzokal and a Hat Trick from Jack Waller means they are Champions with 2 games remaining. A great achievement. With only 2 League defeats this season, the squad has shown great professionalism to win the League again this season, even though they are playing in 2 divisions higher. Well Done boys.

Sorry for lack of postings last couple of weeks running out of steam.
Although we have several games still to play our final positions are settled. The 1st and 4th XIs are Champions of their leagues and the 5th XI have been promoted, regrettably the Res XI have been relegated with the 6th & 7th XIs both finishing in 3rd place in their respected Leagues. So quite a good season but plenty more to aim for to regain our place as one of the stronger clubs in the SAL. Our Annual Dinner was held for the first time at the Clubhouse on Friday and was a great success with many more players present than for many years and with a good smattering of old sweats who enjoyed an old fashioned evening. If the enthusiasm and pride in our club shown can be reflected on the field then we have a good future ahead.
Norsemen FC are proud to have 4 members selected by the AFA.
Congratulations to Jack Robery, Jake Lawrence (Baz), Charncey Dash & Chris Morgan, all of whom have been selected to represent the AFA in a Commemorative Match for Geoff Meakin at Old Minchendenians, KO 2pm on Easter Monday 17th April 2017. Apologies for late posting was not around at weekend.
As you know the 1st XI confirmed their long anticipated Championship with a 2-0 win over Broomfield. We still have 4 games to play 23 wins out of 24 would look good and is attainable. Well done to Jack and his team, Steve our coach who has bought discipline fitness and winning tactics to our team. As I have said before on this forum with our facilities we should have all our teams in the top divisions, we have made good progress this season but the hard work begins in August In other matches our 6th XI lost to the Hill 4-2 in the SAL/AFC Spring Cup. Our promotion seeking 7th XI dropped valuable points against AP 9s. |
