Not a good weekend results wise for the club, the 1st XI had no game due to mass unavailables.
Our new look Res XI lost their first game after 2 wins the fact that half the team had returned from a week in Ibiza at 6.30am did not help, but they showed encouraging spirit in scoring two late goals. The 3's had to postpone their game due to disciplinary issues, the 4th's scored in the last minute to beat the Hill and the 5/6/and 7s all suffered narrow defeats. Once more we seem to be in disciplinary problems with the league, we never seem to learn that antagonising the referee is the most counter productive thing to do as we all know they never change their minds and if you get on the wrong side of them they generally wreak their revenge. The main ground will be ours for the first time this week so if any of our old players are around come and watch the 1st team in action against Ibis and have a beer with me.

This years Lunch will be held on Saturday 11th October in the Club Pavilion.
Will all persons wishing to attend please contact Ian Charles on email at: ian.charles@weareresult.com Afraid not around this Saturday so relying on reports from my correspondents.
The 1st XI had a much needed first win 5-4 against HSBC with a spirited performance, but smacks of some weakness in defence which maybe caused by selection problems yet to be resolved. The Res XI had no game the 3rd XI continued their good form with a last minute winner at Finchleians and now stand at the top of their table. The 4's won at Broomfield 3-1, the 5's drew 3-3 against the Vamps despite leading on 3 occasions, those two teams are now and 1st and 2nd in their division. The 6th XI lost in a high scoring 5-7 match following some careless Goalkeeping and the 7's drew with Finchleians 2-2. Overall a good start to the season for the club in general with work to be done on the first team, they have no match this Saturday so this gives us breathing space to get some of our unavailables back on the pitch to mount a promotion campaign which is the very least that a club of our standing should be aiming for. Ret Frem!!! We are currently looking for Under 13 year old as at 1st August 2014.

I have been a member of this club for over 50 years and I am not going to be the President who takes this ship down. It seems each week we are hit with another crisis entangled with some good news. The first team travelled to Lloyds AFC that's the old Lloyds Bank for my older readers they lost 3-0 their second defeat in this our first ever season in the third division that's bad enough, but pleased be seated older members, we played the entire match with ten men two of our number not showing up without making any contact this beggars belief. I have not heard of any explanation at this stage but frankly cannot think there can be a satisfactory one. I watched the Reserves beat Kew away in an AFA Cup game 5-1, an excellent performance. This side consists of several players who left under a disciplinary cloud a couple of years ago who are back on probation. There are several players in this side that would strengthen the first team, to succeed we really must get our best players in the highest team which seems to happen at most other clubs why are we different? The 3s drew 2-2 with a strong Alleyn Old Boys team, with you know who scoring the 2 goals. The 4s only conceded a late equaliser to Old Garchonians. The 5s and 7s had good wins but unfortunately the 6s lost to the Hill. The 1st XI are home this week to HSBC, that's the old Midland Bank, hopefully we can field our strongest team and keep 11 players on the field to try and rectify our wretched start to the season.
