Presidents Lunch / Old Boys Day was held on Saturday with a turn out of nearly 50 people including guests, the Chairman of the SAL and three from the days opponents Broomfield.
A splendid occasion of which we should all be proud magnificently organised by Chunky. The ground was again looking great with all 5 pitches in use which set me thinking that we should be doing better with all the facilities we have. There are teams in the first division's with nothing nearly as good as our set up we must be doing something wrong in our recruitment or retention of players, anybody with any bright ideas please let me know. Onto the days action where the results were quite good the 1st XI won 3-1. The Res XI had a tough away game at Nottsborough where they lost 4-2, not a bad result considering we played the first 30 minutes with ten men. The 3rd XI came back from 3-0 down to draw 3-3 with Civil Service. The 4th XI beat Broomfield thirds 4-2. The 5th XI crushed EBOG 5s 14-1. The 6th XI lost on penalties 8-9 to Old Finchleians 6s in the AFA Cup. The 7th XI lost 6-3 in the AFA Cup to Old Parminterians. This week the 1st XI are at home again hopefully some of our old brigade enjoyed themselves so much last week that they will come along and lend their support.

Norsemen Youth U14 starlet Malachi Walcott has just signed forms for Tottenham Hotspur FC.
He has been a Norsemen since the age of 9. We wish him every success for a long and fruitful career ahead. Congratulations to Malachi from the U14's squad who has signed a year contract at Tottenham Hotspur. We will follow his progress with great interest. Good Luck Mali!!! It was good to see the return of three of the Morgan brothers who will strengthen the team but we are still missing a large group of players who have made up the 1st and 2nd teams for the last few years, whose experience would greatly assist the teams. Come on guys there are many years when you will not be able to play so make the most of the years you can. The 3rd XI still under the great goal scorer won 7-1 in the AFA Cup against Old Tiffs reserves, the 4th XI lost 1-0 at Old Parks. The 5th XI came from behind to beat Old Salvartorians in the AFA Cup, the 6th XI lost heavily away to AP and the 7th XI featuring the return after several years of 47 year old Steve Pytches won 5-3 against new team St James Old Boys 3rd XI. This week we are holding our annual Presidents Day Lunch and I look forward to greeting some old friends for our match against Broomfield, there are spaces left so if you want to come contact Ian Charles via email on: ian.charles@weareresult.com 1st XI v NO GAME
