President's Final Patter for 2013/14 season

7/5/2014

My final Patter for the season ends on a sour note with the 1st team relegated to the third division for the first team in our history. Make no mistake it will be a hard road back there are several clubs in that division being more used to being in the first division so it will take a good well organised side to win promotion.
Apart from better recruitment previously discussed we need to restore a club spirit as well as team spirit. We seem to lack members who are ambitious to play at the highest level settling for playing with their mates at a lower level than they are capable of. As I said at the dinner this is a great club with a fantastic history, lets all try and be part of history and restore this club to its former glory.
The dinner was held very successfully, a smaller quorum than normal but showed we still have a large contingent of players who really care about the club.
The last event of the season will be the AGM at which the officials and skippers for next season will be elected, the right captains make or break a team so please come along and cast your vote, details of the AGM will be posted on the web site, see you there.
