A quiet week with only 3 games played, once again we were hit by teams crying off due to shortage of players.
The SAL has a serious problem with some clubs not able to meet their commitments on a regular basis and costing the club a lot of money and the ability to provide regular football for our members.
On a more positive note the 1st XI, after their first loss the previous week returned to winning form with a 4-1 victory away to Old Salesians, this club were high flyers only a couple of years ago just shows how important it is to keep your standards up as a fall is never far away.
The Res XI who have been playing well recently without getting the results they deserve had a great win 5-1 against Bank of England to whom they had lost by the same score earlier in the season. This win lifted us off the bottom of the table, but we still have a battle ahead as we have played more games than the other stragglers.
Our only other game was the 7th XI who had a tough fixture against Old Owens 5th and lost 5-2.
