Another beautiful Spring day at the club where we successfully staged another SAL Cup Final.
If we are not getting a thing right on the pitch, we certainly seem to be doing so off it with the whole ground looking a picture.
Your President had the dubious pleasure of presenting the SAL Minor Cup to the Winchmore Hill 4th team captain, they are a very good side and were a taste of what our 4th team will be facing next season. Congratulations to them for clinching promotion on Saturday. The reserves continued their good run with another win and now look safe from relegation. The 1st XI team lost 2 matches last week, now making them favourites for the second relegation place. It looks like we may have to face up to our first ever season in the third division which must be the time for us to take a good long hard look at ourselves.
It is now going to be even harder to recruit good players which are badly needed. I think that James and Nick have been badly let down by the lack of committed support they have received and unless we can get players who really want to play every week and get themselves involved with the club as a whole then we will continue to struggle. We have the facilities to attract the best but at present we are failing badly. All is not lost yet, there are 2 vital games being played on the Grocers this Tuesday k.o 5.45 the first team have to win to have any chance of staying up and the third team badly need to win to keep their promotion hopes alive. If you have not been able to get down this season, this is when all your support is needed and it would be good to see some of the players from teams not playing coming down to support the club in its hour of need.
