President's Patter for 19.12.2015

21/12/2015

Well, the end of the year is upon us and I would like to wish all my readers a very Happy Christmas and A Prosperous New Year.
Last Saturday was not one of our greatest days.
The 1st XI went down to our local rivals Broomfield, who sit as the base of the table. Enough said.
The Res XI lost to local rivals Winchmore Hill in what was a very good game and although the Hill were probably the stronger side, our Reserves took a 1-0 lead at half time before conceding 4 in the second half. Probably slightly unfair as we had battled well throughout this match.
The 3rd XI returned to winning ways following their Cup defeat last week to maintain their Top of the Table spot for Christmas, but made hard work of it against a resilient Carshalton XI who through travelling troubles started the game with 8 men. Fair play to them they battled well and only just lost   4-3 after a match reduced to 80 minutes.
The 4th XI had no fixture and were celebrating Xmas at the Darts at Alexandra Palace.
The 5th XI also retained their Top of the Table spot with a 4-1 victory at EBOG's, but sadly more poor discipline in this fixture.
The 6th XI went down at Home to a strong Old Parks side.
The 7th XI also suffered the same fate at Old Parks.

Take Care all and as mentioned have a great Christmas & New Year.
