Another weather damaged programme, our ground was fit for play but we lost a couple of away games.
With the milder but wetter weather we are having, it is becoming increasingly difficult for clubs to complete their match programmes.
A rethink from groundsmen as to what constitutes a playable pitch is overdue.
On the first team pitch we staged the AFA Vets Cup well organised by Chunky.
The 1st XI game was called off late Saturday morning for the second week running, a pity as we had a good run going. We have an important game this week against Broomfield.
The Res XI suffered a surprise heavy defeat against Bank of England and had their money stolen from the Dressing Rooms, not a good day.
The 3rd and 4th XIs had no games this weekend.
The 5th XI had a resounding 6-1 victory over CEV having brought the game to Norsemen due to pitch unavailable at CEV, the 6th XI also had a good win 6-3 against EBOGs, both these sides enjoy their football and represent the club very well.
I think despite some setbacks we are getting better with most teams demonstrating an increasing desire to be part of the club, as a whole we need to move on to improving the social side of the club with evening events involving our partners.
I think we are all agreed that good skippers can make or break a team so time to start thinking about next season, we can have as many sides as we have good captains so if anybody fancies it, put their name forward or somebody else's if they fit the bill.
COYN!!!
