Another Saturday with games hit by the weather, all our 5 pitches were fit for play, well done Brent and David, we hired one out, but our other opponents refused to switch grounds leaving them with unnecessary fixture problems later in the season. I think it is time the league bought in a rule that if only one teams pitches were fit then the fixture would be automatically switched.
The 1st XI returned to Hydeside for a game against our old friends Carshalton, the game was very competitive and very well refereed by Lee Addison. Our first goal came from a bad error by their otherwise excellent goalkeeper, they soon equalised and we won the game with ten minutes to go with an excellent team goal finished in grand style by the newly prolific Baz.
This team has really prospered this season under coach Steve and seem to have got rid of their rough edges and now proudly turned out each week in their Norsemen track suits are becoming what used to be known as good Norsemen.
The 4th XI won again 4-2 against EBOG they now only need one point to clinch their league title, a remarkable achievement at this early stage.
The 5th XI lost their top of the table game against AP 6th XI 3-7 and now appear to have blown their chances of winning the league.
