At last a touch of Spring in the air a very drying week had left all the pitches very bumpy but amazingly dry compared to last week.
I watched the 1st XI continue their good run, after two weeks off, with a hard fought 2-0 win against Broomfield. We have been showing promotion form in the last few weeks but we need the top two sides to drop some points for us to have any chance of promotion, all we can do is keep winning and hope that miracles happen.
The Res XI & 3rd XI kept up there promotion bids with a 2-0 win over Carshalton and 3-0 over Southgate Olympic.
Not such good news lower down with the 4/5/6 losing, but the 7th XI made it 4 wins out of 7 with a good away win against the Vamps.
The 5th XI have now completed their fixtures for the season which must be the earliest ever, a price we are paying for being banned from the SAL Cups this year.
An appeal to non playing Norsemen each week we need somebody at the ground an hour before kick off to Meet and Greet the opposition and referees direct them to their dressing rooms and pitches and lock and unlock the dressing rooms and then have a beer.
Its not a difficult job but we have few volunteers and need more to spread the load.
On a much brighter note, we all send our Congratulations & Best Wishes to our Under 13 Youth XI on reaching yet another Cup Final following their 4-2 victory over Welwyn Pegasus in the Mid Herts Cup.
This Sunday they play their AFA U13 Cup Final, where they meet Whitewebb Eagles at Allbury Ride, Waltham Cross in a 1.30pm KO.
