Apologies to my reader(s) for last two weeks, one week I was censored and last week enjoying some golf in Spain.
As I said before we are having problems in the club at present, but this does not seem to be affecting our performances on the field with all our sides at or near the top of their respective leagues.
Yesterday was mainly a good day. The 1st XI continued their 100% record in the league with a 3-1 away win against AFC Oldsmiths, they now have 15 points from 5 games a very good base for a promotion challenge, thankfully the more they win the better our discipline, a lesson to be learnt there.
The reserves played the Vamps in the AFA Intermediate Cup having already beaten them in the league 2 weeks ago, this time the opposition were much stronger with at least one player of first team standard and we were well beaten 2-7.
The 4th XI continued their good run with a 7-0 win against old Owens, there are some good players in this team.
The 5th XI are top of their league and beat Old Stationers Reserves 4-1, a great result for Paul Docherty's boys.
The 6th XI are now top of their league after a 12-2 victory against Old Parks in which 3 of their players scored Hat Tricks, in the Old Days the Jugs would have been flowing.
However, it was good to see a side of new young talent making their mark as Norsemen. Jonah Trenouth making his Club Debut was a Hat Trick hero.
Next week we are holding our annual Presidents lunch and are expecting a bumper turn out, there are very few places available, so contact Ian Charles if you wish to attend.
