President's Patter for Saturday 18th March'17

20/3/2017

At last a busy Saturday at the club which is good for the Sports Club bar takings.
We staged the AFA Vets Cup Final between two local sides Old Woodhouseians & Albanians 40 +Vets, this was a good standard of football and watched by a good crowd. Albanians won 1-0.
We are missing out here we were one of the first clubs to have a Vets team, but have not had one for a number of years.
There are many good players who have stopped playing recently who could make up a good team.
How about it Guys.

The 1st XI bumped from the first team pitch scored another win 5-3 against Broomfield which virtually clinches their league championship. We need one point to make this a mathematical certainty.
The Res XI lost heavily in the Spring Cup to Hale End Athletic.

The 5th XI clinched promotion with a 2-1 win against Broomfield Reserves. Well done lads, thoroughly deserved in what has been a good season for them.
The 6th XI and 7th XI both lost to Winchmore Hill and AP, there was a suspicion of team loading from higher sides existing in both matches, we intend to follow this through the appropriate channels.
