Presidents Lunch / Old Boys Day was held on Saturday with a turn out of nearly 50 people including guests, the Chairman of the SAL and three from the days opponents Broomfield.
A splendid occasion of which we should all be proud magnificently organised by Chunky.
The ground was again looking great with all 5 pitches in use which set me thinking that we should be doing better with all the facilities we have. There are teams in the first division's with nothing nearly as good as our set up we must be doing something wrong in our recruitment or retention of players, anybody with any bright ideas please let me know.
Onto the days action where the results were quite good the 1st XI won 3-1.
The Res XI had a tough away game at Nottsborough where they lost 4-2, not a bad result considering we played the first 30 minutes with ten men.
The 3rd XI came back from 3-0 down to draw 3-3 with Civil Service.
The 4th XI beat Broomfield thirds 4-2.
The 5th XI crushed EBOG 5s 14-1.
The 6th XI lost on penalties 8-9 to Old Finchleians 6s in the AFA Cup.
The 7th XI lost 6-3 in the AFA Cup to Old Parminterians.
This week the 1st XI are at home again hopefully some of our old brigade enjoyed themselves so much last week that they will come along and lend their support.
