Presidents PatterBack to the good weather again at Hydeside on Saturday, it’s really disappointing that so few of our former members and players come to the ground to enjoy some good quality football cheap beer in a pleasant environment.
We even have a hot dog/hamburger van to feed you. A mixed week suggesting that the main strength of the club is going to be in the top two sides this year with a couple of our lower sides maybe over matched in their leagues. The first team took the long trip to Merton and after falling behind to a second half goal came back with a couple of late goals to secure a 2-1 victory. These are important games to win after a long journey and not a great pitch. The next two games are in the cup in which we have done very badly recently, time for a good run. The reserves with several new players scored an easy fixture in the cup 4-0 against Old Ignations, several players here who can challenge for a first team place. The Thirds and fourths both lost in close games against St James and Winchmore Hill. The fifths drew 2-2 and remain top of their division. The sixth were overmatched against Old Lyonians and lost heavily and the sevens retained their 100% record with a good win against a strong Old Parks team. Presidents lunch day is approaching on 20th October if you wish to come contact Jim McDermid
