Hawks back on the winning streak.

The Hawks had a full squad today and it was all about us hitting the post and their goalkeeper making a lot of good saves. But Broxbourne struck first with a counter attack when the Hawks were caught off guard. We were creating a lot chances but our finishing wasn't good enough. At half-time Theo was talking about how we were much better then this which gave us a more winning mentality to go out there and grab the three points. We had a corner on the right side and Harry whipped in a cross and then their defender kicked it into his own net. We all thought it was going to finish 1-1
but we kept our heads up and Lecsine scored to make us get the three valuable points!

Hawks back on track with a 5-0 win

After last weeks lost we were never going to lose this game. This week we didn't have Lescine or Theo so we were missing two key players but we still managed to score five goals and get the three points.We scored early goal after Taylan crossed into Jake and he buried it home. After that Oran made it 2-0 by putting pressure on their keeper and then scored with an open net. At half time it was 2-0 and the Hawks weren't finished yet.We had some encourage meant from Colin and Theo and then the second half was under way. We had most of possession and we were doing lovely passing and lovely defending, which led to another clean sheet for the season. Harry got 1, Jake got 2 and Oran got 2. It was a great performance all round and everyone played their part.

Hawks hit five past Harlow!

Hawks are back on track, after we lost last week, today we won 5-0 vs a team who we've never beat before. We had always drawn against them 0-0 and 2-2. It was lovely passing from the Hawks and excellent through balls to the wingers and strikers plus 1, 2's. It was a great come back from last weeks disappointing result.
Everyone played their roles in the team and fingers crossed we'll win next week.
Freddie scored a header, George scored a free kick and a 1 on 1, Theo scored and Taylan scored. Arthur kept a clean sheet, the first of the season and we made the ginger striker lose his temper with his own team mates.

Hawks keep rolling on!

It was a hot day, a hard pitch against Lemsford, a team we have never played before. But for two games 12 goals scored is pretty impressive. It was a tough start with end to end football, but you could tell we were always in control of the game.
Arthur booted the ball up and it was bouncing it came to a defender, Seb gave him a nudge and he headed it in. Not long afterwards we doubled our lead to 2-0 with an amazing clean strike from George which went top corner. At half time we definitely came out ready to contain our lead. We conceded early and after that the Hawks upped their game and scored three other goals from Theo who scored twice and Harry scored once.
It was a great team performance all round, every player did their roll.

Hawks Score Seven as they go top of the league.

Pre-season was good and the same with our fitness, as we had training every Saturday.
We have played this team twice before and won one but also drew one 4-4 in our last game of the season.
In the first 10 minutes it was end to end football, we scored first to make it 1-0 and then a minute later they equalised. It was a very attacking game for Norseman and our finishing was great as well. The first sin bin of the season given to a Watton youth player for swearing at the referee, not good!
The competition has started for the golden boot as Jake scored 2 and so did Harry and George, Theo and Lescine got one each. The other team scored three and the final result was 7-3 to the Hawks. #COYN

Hawks Pre- Season Preview 2019/2020

The Hawks had amazing season last year as we reached the cup final but dramatically lost 3-1 to Tottenhall. We now have a great team and now have some new faces, plus we are all friends which will give us great team spirit
I asked our coach Colin Hales what he has to say about the new season ahead of us. On tactics he said "Tactics will change weekly depending on who is playing and the opposition" On his hopes for the season " I'm hoping with the team we have to be battling at the top of our league and potentially another good cup run. I think the players we have signed should improve the team a lot and hopefully they can battle for a place in the team. I think we had a good season last year and have improved on some of our weak areas."
This year I hope that we are strong in our tackles, precise with our passes and shots like cannonballs. 'Walk Tall You Blue Giants' and reach for the stars. Seb Berndes No 8 Norsemen Hawks

Two goals of the season contenders!!

Today, Arthur wasn't here so Jake and Seb Jake had to go in goal. We had played Clodhan earlier this season and had lost 3-1 but we were lucky it was a friendly. The Hawks were put under early pressure by the oppositions attack and we couldn't manage to get the ball out our half and go on a counter attack. Jake was in goal the first half and he scored a 'worldy' from his goal; maybe even goal of the season? Jake said "I knew it was a big kick from the moment it left my hands but, to score from it was just an amazing feeling. Although I felt sorry for the other keeper." The other team didn't take their chances which led to their coach not being very happy. At half time Jake gave the goal keeper kit to Seb and he was roaring to go. Seb said to his defence " I don't care what you do, but just clear and get the ball out our half!!" The defence of Luke, Oran and Dexter were solid gold in their defending. Taylan scored a brilliant back heel from a corner that could also be a contender for goal of the season. A 2-0 win secured the three points for the Hawks!!!

This Saturday Hawks made history by qualifying for our first ever cup final by beating SFA Santos!!
The Hawks put their all into this match and we came out victorious; even though there was controversy at the end with a Hawks goal ruled out in the last minute.
We got to semi-final last year and this time we weren't going out!
We had played this team in the league and had drew 1-1. The Hawks were off to a good start with a lot of chances created, we were by far the better team. SFA started to put pressure on us but the defence of Luke, Dexter and Taylan were clearing their lines. Jake was 1 on 1 with the keeper and it was a brilliant finish making the Hawks go one up. 1-0.
The second half was like ping pong, when SFA had a chance, we went on the counter. Then in the last minute George was through on goal, he shot, the goalie saved it and Tylan scored the rebound. But, heartbreak for the Hawks, the linesman gave it as offside. How could he make this call? Was he being fair?
It was full time and you guessed it, it was extra time! Hawks didn't give up, but there were not many chances to score. It was down to a penalty shoot out. The Hawks had a good history in shoot outs, with Arthur being outstanding in goal. It was three penalties each, SFA missed there third, but unfortunately Dexter missed and it was sudden death. Arthur saved and Jake scored to send Hawks through. We came here to win, not to go out again. We are in it to win it! COYNH! Seb Berndes No.8 Norsemen Hawks

Hawks win a tough battle

Norseman Hawks played this team earlier this season and had lost 4-1 but this time we won 3-0 which was very satisfying! In the opening ten minutes William was through on goal, he shot, but it just went past the post. Hawks got the break through when their player passed back to his keeper and Harry intercepted it,he took it past the keeper, shot and we found ourselves 1-0 up. Seb also had a volley however it skimmed the post, It was 1-0 at half time and the Hawks had battered Tottenhall. In the second half it was even for the first 5 minutes. Harry had a free kick, he shot it flew into the top corner and Norseman Hawks doubled their lead here at their home pitch. Tottenhall came back at the Hawks, but we kept cool and didn't let it bother them. Jake was outstanding today,he man marked their best player very well. There was only one minute to go and we were on the break Harry had the ball at his feet he passed to Seb, Seb took it passed the defender shot and it was a lovely finish with power and it went in the bottom corner. Norseman had the win that they really deserved.

Norseman Hawks are in the semi finals again and hopefully we'll win this year.
It was a great battle between Stevenage and us and we came out victorious.
Last time we played this team we won 3-2. It was definitely going to be a hard game because we both wanted to reach the semi finals.
Norseman had to be physical but Stevenage couldn't cope with the strength but ref was punishing the Hawks. In the first 15 minutes the opposition had scored and we were under pressure already, however we didn't give up.
It was a nice touch from Seb and Jake shot and it went over the keepers head and the game was back on.
At half time it was 1-1 and Norseman were hungry for more goals. In the second half Hawks had a free kick and Harry shot a rocket of a finish which went into the top corner. It was 2-1 to Norseman and not long after George made it 3-1 and Norseman were in league cup dream land. Luke, Harry G,Dexter and Will were solid at the back keeping a high line.
The midfield with Theo, Harry, George,Jake,Seb and Olly were brilliant as well. With about 10 minutes left they got a goal back to test the nerves of the Hawks, Toni Green said "she was hiding in a bush" she was that nervous. But right at the end their player hit the cross bar. The ref blew his whistle and Norseman got the win. We're in the semi finals and this time we're getting to the FINALS!!!!
